Ryan Daube
Founding Member/Principal
Ryan has been in the logistics industry for the past 13 years. He started AFN in 2003 with a desire to find unique shipping solutions for our customers’ specific requirements. Since then, AFN has grown into a company that ships over six billion dollars worth of freight annually, an employs over 150 full time staff members. Prior to founding AFN, Ryan worked as a customer sales representative for American Backhaulers. In his free time, Ryan is committed to several local charity groups, and he enjoys giving back to the community.
Mike Nervick
Founding Member/Principal
Mike began his logistics career as a carrier sales representative for American Backhaulers in 1996. After becoming one of the more successful carrier sales representatives, Mike joined Ryan to start AFN. Mike has built great relationships with many of our carriers over the years and he pioneered the concept of treating carriers like clients. Just like Ryan, Mike is a very hands-on leader and spends a great deal of time mentoring, coaching, and overseeing the entire business. Mike is well known around AFN for his “sharpening the saw” philosophy and ethical standards, which brings great balance to our business and provides our clients with a logistics partner that is focused on continuous improvement while maintaining our integrity.
Chad McGinn
Chief Financial Officer
With a keen eye for detail and a dedication to client service, Chad’s goal at AFN is to provide the highest standard of accountancy and finance. Chad has over 15 years of experience ranging from individual tax returns to the management of a $600 million financial growth project for a previous employer. Under Chad’s guidance, our accounting department assists in all of our clients’ accounting and financial needs by offering various payment options, customized reporting packages, adherence to invoicing requirements and seamless completion of transactions.
Jared Palmer
General Counsel
As General Counsel for AFN, Jared leads a legal department solely focused on establishing value added risk management services. Jared has helped distinguish AFN as an industry leader in the theft prevention of high value and high risk commodities, due to his strategic implementation of proprietary risk management processes. Jared is also an adjunct professor of transportation law at his alma mater, the Chicago-Kent College of Law. Additionally, he serves as chairman of the Government Affairs Committee for the National Cargo Theft Task Force, and is a member of the CargoNet Advisory Committe. Jared has authored numerous articles on cargo theft, logistics, insurance, and risks affecting the logistics industry. He is actively involved in lobbying efforts in Washington, D.C.
Jeff Daube
Vice President of Sales
Jeff comes to AFN with over 30 years experience as a managing partner in an independent sales agency. His extensive entrepreneurial business background and interpersonal skills are a huge asset to AFN in a multitude of roles. Jeff has been the Director of Human Resources for the last six years and took the reigns as VP of Sales in February 2009. Jeff plays a key role in the training and development of AFN’s employees, especially in the area of customer sales.
Adam Wakefield
Vice President of Core Account Development
Adam has been in the logistics industry for the past 9 years and has held various positions within the industry and within AFN. As Vice President of Core Account Development for AFN, Adam is very involved in the day-to-day aspects of our clients’ businesses. Adam’s previous industry experience working on the procurement side in addition to working on some of AFN’s largest accounts as an operations representative, truly benefits our organization and our customers.
Kira Meinzer
Vice President of Human Resources
Kira comes to AFN with over 12 years of HR experience in both the logistics and the consumer packaged goods industries. She is a PHR certified HR professional with a vast amount of experience in recruiting and retention, training and development, talent management, and general human resources functions. Kira’s role at AFN is to ensure that our people strategy matches our business strategy. Kira stays active in the national and local HR community to ensure that AFN provides the most essential and comprehensive resources to it’s employees.
Eric Malcolm
Director of Sales and Operations
As Director of Sales and Operations, Eric develops the strategic direction for our Sales and Operations teams to help meet AFN’s business goals and exceed our customer’s expectations. He also focuses on driving operational efficiency through continued process improvement. Eric began his logistics career at CH Robinson as an Operations Representative and a Customer Sales Representative. Prior to joining AFN, Eric worked at the RMI company, where he sold information technology and software for the rail industry. Eric holds an MBA from Emory University.
Oleg Yanchyk
Director of Procurement and Business Intelligence
As the Director of Procurement and Business Intelligence, Oleg leads AFN’s procurement, logistics coordination and business development departments. His main focus is on building relationships with our core carriers and continuing to improve AFN’s processes to create greater efficiencies. Oleg comes to AFN from JRC, where he was the Director of Operations. Prior to that position, Oleg began his carreer with Schneider National, where he held a number of positions, such as Account Analyst, Carrier Sales Operations Manager and Customer Response Manager. Oleg holds an MBA in Logistics and Operations from the University of Tennessee.
